When W.E.B. Dubois talked about the talented tenth being that exclusive group of Black people that would intellectually lead us not only into freedom but prosperity he was talking about the cream of the crop. He was talking about the best and brightest young minds among us to become doctors, lawyers, dentist, Bankers, an so on. Our program, though based deeply in this philosophy, is designed to develop a group of young men with young minds to become a part of that very prestigious group.
We have developed a rigorous, intellectually, spiritually and physically, and challenging program that has a curriculum that not only embraces the academics for success but the best life skills and etiquette to produce a cadre of Obama-like young men and scholars.

The Umoja Group’s Talented Tenth
We will hold forum at the College Expo on Saturday to go over the Program. So we will invite the ten schools at each level to the Expo (Shuttle Buses & Expo Admission). Reach out to all Charter Schools initially. This will be the task of the 50 mentoring college students.
Enrollment Objectives are to recruit:10 from 10 High Schools10 from 10 middle schools10 from 10 elementary schools50 College Students at the University level to be the team leaders.
From this Group, we will take the top performing student from each school at each level and provide scholarships towards tuition, books and study equipment. To enroll, you will have to be among the top ten applicants from your school.
